Hey girls! You probably already know that my favorite part of my makeup routine is lips.
Today I want to tell you how I keep my lips from drying, cracking, bleeding, and ruining the lipstick.
We all have dry lips at some point. But what a lot of people forget, is to exfoliate to remove dead skin, before applying moisture. You can use a lip scrub, or you can make your own at home. All you need is a little bit of lip balm on your finger (or Vaseline), and dip that finger in plain white sugar. Use that to scrub your lips.
I use this one from lush.
After scrubbing, apply a good lip balm. There are many alternatives, but the best one I've tried so far is the eight hour cream by Elizabeth Arden.
And now you are ready for lipstick!
Another tip is to apply lip balm when you start doing your makeup. That way your lips are moisturized when you are done with your face and are ready to move on to your lips!
If you are using a matte lipstick that is drying on the lips, you can always apply some lip balm on top (if the lipstick is long lasting). Applying a gloss over the lipstick also keeps your lips soft, and the "wrinkles" on the lips are less visible.
A great gloss that makes your lips look healthy and non-dry is this one from Clarins.
I hope that helps you get the best version of your lips!
Have a good one <3
